Good afternoon Families,

Based on the most recent forecast from the National Weather Service, Carlsbad Municipal Schools will transition to a remote learning setting on Monday, January 26, 2026.

What to Expect for Monday:
  • Devices: Students will be sent home Friday with a learning device. Please ensure it is charged and ready for use on Monday. If you have trouble logging on or need technology assistance please call 575-266-4737
  • Schedules: Your child’s teacher will communicate the specific schedule and login instructions for Monday's lessons.
  • Attendance: Attendance will be taken. Please ensure your student logs in as directed by their teacher.
Weather Outlook: The National Weather Service predicts freezing rain starting Saturday evening, followed by 2 to 6 inches of snow throughout the weekend. Freezing rain is not expected in our area until after 6:00 pm on Friday. We will monitor hourly updates for any significant changes to the forecast.

Safety First: We encourage everyone to stay off the roads this weekend if travel is not necessary. Please stay warm and stay safe.

We look forward to a productive remote learning day on Monday.

Respectfully,
Gerry C. Washburn,
Superintendent
